Present Qualifications

Project Management:

Through my education and voluntary work I have a solid experience with project planning and management.

Every semester of my bachelor and master study contains a major project. Thus I have participated in 10 major academic projects in various subjects. In 3 of these projects I was elected project manager. Working with projects also improves analytic abilities as well as teamwork spirit.

In my internship I was appointed Project Manager in part of a large IT project. I was able to push the project forward and reach goals far beyond the company’s expectations. Hence I have skills in project management involving many people in a large bureaucracy. Where trust and persuasion are key factors of success.

Guidance and Counseling:

Through my current position as PhD I will supervise at least six project groups studying either their masters or bachelor in global business engineering. Through these experiences I will learn to guide students through their projects, not as the project manager, but as a project counselor. Furthermore through my previous experiences as student councilor and as customer service in a large cell phone company, I have gained wide hands on knowledge on the terms guidance and counseling.

It is my belief that excellent guidance involves human understanding and empathy. Once the client recognizes understanding and involvement from the councilor, the conversation usually has a more beneficial outcome. Therefore human understanding and developing trusting relationships are some of my key competences.

Academic Knowledge:

Currently I am gaining a solid theoretical knowledge within the fields of Information Systems and Operation Management. The specific areas of research are information architecture, governance and supply chain management with a foundation in structuration theory and a contingent, social constructivist approach.

The subjects which preoccupied me the most through my masters were organizational behavior and strategic planning and management. These subjects have also been my primary areas of contribution through my research. Each project throuch my masters involved analysis of an industrial company to help the firm with a specific managerial issue:

E.g. a small company that produced tree based interior for ships needed help to reorganize the production flow. However the analysis showed that the actual problem (bottleneck) was hidden in the organizational structure and lack of management and leadership in general. Thus our solution to the company was an organizational change as well as a new production design enhancing the production flow.

The basis of my bachelor degree is Nanotechnology. Thus I have gained a basic knowledge in physics, biochemistry, microelectronics and math.

Afterwards I took my graduate studies in Industrial Management.

These studies includes courses in: Organizational behavior, marketing planning, project management, quality management, strategic theory, supply chain management, lean, statistics, ERP-systems (SAP and Dynamics AX), programming, databases, theory of science, commercial and labour law.
